PT Link Net Tbk Establishes Partnership with PT Alita Praya Mitra
Accelerate First Media Service Expansion in Java and Bali Island
Jakarta, 2/10/19 - PT Link Net Tbk
(LINK) with the First Media brand, a leader in the TV Cable and Fixed Broadband
Cable Internet provider industry in Indonesia, has established a partnership
with PT Alita Praya Mitra as a neutral infrastructure network provider company
with a national-scale Closed Network license throughout Indonesia.
Symbolically, the cooperation between the two parties was carried out by
exchanging souvenirs at the Aryaduta Hotel Jakarta on Wednesday, October 2,
2019, by Marlo Budiman as President Director & CEO of PT Link Net Tbk, and
TeguhPrasetya as CEO of PT Alita Praya Mitra. This collaboration allows First
Media to access Alita's pedestal with a potential number of 75,000 pillars or
about 4,000 km, with an area coverage of Java, Bali, and North Sulawesi. The
pedestal will upgrade to a Smart Pole, which will facilitate the process of
monitoring network reliability.
PT Link Net Tbk has consistently
demonstrated its commitment to innovation and service expansion by accelerating
strategic network expansion and migrating strategic poles to improve customer
service quality, collaborating with various partners. Previously with PT
MargaMandalasakti (ASTRA Tol Tangerang-Merak) in the placement of
telecommunications infrastructure connecting Jakarta-Serang-Merak; then cooperated
with PT Fiber Media Indonesia for fiber optic networks through the pillars in
Jabodetabek. In collaboration with PT Alita Praya Mitra, the rental of
pedestals will improve the quality of services in the Greater Jakarta area and
accelerate First Media's expansion, especially in Java and Bali.
Marlo Budiman said, "Along with
innovations in service and content, we are continuously collaborating with
various partners providing backbone and telecommunications infrastructure to
serve more people. This step facilitates our expansion strategy into major
cities in Indonesia and provides sustainable growth. The collaboration with
Alita is in line with our efforts in accelerating and expanding our network and
migrating strategic poles this year in Java, such as Greater Jakarta, Surabaya,
Semarang, Solo, Cilegon, and Serang, as well as Bali, to reach both residential
and corporate customers."
Based on data from APJII (2019), the
number of internet users in Indonesia, Java island has 55% of total internet
users in Indonesia, where West Java is in the first position with 16.6%,
Central Java with 14.3%, East Java 13.5%, DKI Jakarta and Banten both
contributed 4.7% and DI Yogyakarta 1.5%. Meanwhile, Bali & Nusa Tenggara
accounted for 5% of the total internet users in Indonesia. BPS 2018 data
projects that the population in 2019 for the island of Java will reach 150.4
million people, and Bali will reach 4.36 million people. Seeing this potential,
the islands of Java and Bali deserve priority in improving services and more comprehensive
coverage to increase internet penetration and provide fast and stable internet
services. First Media services, as of the second quarter of 2019, have reached
2.31 million homes passed in the Greater Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and
surrounding areas (including Malang), Bali, Medan, and Batam.
"With the power of Alita's network
across major cities in Indonesia, such as Bandung, Solo, Malang, Cirebon,
Tegal, Semarang, Surabaya, Manado, and Bali, collaboration with First Media can
provide internet services to these areas more quickly and efficiently.
Reliable, Alita as a neutral network infrastructure will provide better
services and have a high level of reliability," said TeguhPrasetya, CEO of
PT Alita Praya Mitra.
The need for the use of shared infrastructure
is a mutually beneficial cooperation initiative for the parties, both in terms
of penetration speed, being more economical, and increasing the utilization of
infrastructure that will be and has been built by the parties simultaneously
TeguhPrasetya further. "Alita herself will continue to develop the
existing telecommunications access network infrastructure to meet the
penetration needs of telecommunications and ICT service providers throughout
Indonesia."
